SpaceX targets early morning Thursday launch from Florida. What to know before liftoff.
A SpaceX rocket launch from Florida will kick off Thursday morning, July 9, on the Space Coast with a rumble. The liftoff is set for no earlier than 5:05 a.m. from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. If needed, SpaceX has until 9:05 a.m. to make the launch window. The mission, known as Starlink 10-42, will deploy 29 Starlink satellites into orbit. The Falcon 9 rocket will travel on a northeast trajectory after liftoff. Depending on conditions, those north of the Space Coast may get a view of the rocket. No Brevard sonic booms are expected, as the rocket's first stage booster will land on the A Shortfall of Gravitas drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean. In the coming days, the drone ship will return to Port Canaveral with the booster.
