Paul Allen Estate Sells Seattle Seahawks to Venture Capitalist

A chapter closes in professional sports ownership. The Paul G. Allen Estate has sold the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks to an ownership group led by venture capitalist Vinod Khosla. Khosla made his fortune as the co-founder of Sun Microsystems and various investments. Per the team report, terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The transaction remains subject to NFL approval. Last March the Allen Estate completed the sale of the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers to a coalition led by Texas businessman Tom Dundon. Allen passed away in October, 2018 due to complications from non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
