Apple Launches Core AI for Apple-Silicon Optimized On-Device Generative AI
At WWDC 26, Apple announced the Core AI framework, the official successor to Core ML. It is designed to allow developers to run large language models and generative AI entirely on-device, supporting both custom-converted PyTorch models and pre-optimized open-source models.

Copy Fail and Dirty Frag: Linux Page-Cache Exploits Target Every Major Distribution
Two Linux kernel local privilege escalation vulnerabilities have been publicly disclosed within a week of each other. Copy Fail (CVE-2026-31431), disclosed on 29 April 2026 by security firm Theori, and Dirty Frag (CVE-2026-43284 and CVE-2026-43500), disclosed on 7 May 2026 by researcher Hyunwoo Kim, both allow an unprivileged local user to obtain root on affected distributions.
